Galeria Młociny

Great selection of shops for men & women & for all budgets. Hosts a cinema and a bowling alley. Well-air conditioned/heated. Spacious. Almost never overcrowded. Sizeable food court with a large array of restaurants (casual dining, fast food, cafés, etc). The most comfortable shopping centre to spend time at. Highlight(s): Comfort, space, & simplicity; Gagliardi. Supermarket: Biedronka. Department store(s): Van Graaf, TK Maxx. Accessible by Metro Line 1 (Młociny). Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-10pm

Blue City

Very large, 6-floor super-sized shopping centre. All-round excellent centre of entertainment. Pool tables, mini golf, escape rooms, arcade, cinema, and more. A good range of shops. Very awkward to access. Not well-linked. Slightly awkward escalator situation. The most fun shopping centre in Warsaw. Highlight: TEP Factor. Supermarket: Eurospar. Department store(s): TK Maxx. Accessible by bus no.s 127, 158, & 517 (Berestecka). Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-10pm.

Westfield Arkadia

The largest shopping centre in Warsaw. Has all of the essentials & main international brands. Caters more for women than for men. Has a multi-screen cinema. A good-sized food court with good options (Wiking is the best one). Can get very busy on the weekends, due to its popularity and proximity to the centre. Highlight: comprehensive high standards. Supermarket: Carrefour. Department store(s): Peek & Cloppenburg. Accessible by tram no.s 17, & 33. Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-10pm.

Klif

Small shopping centre, predominantly occupied by international high-end women's fashion shops. Potential to find brands that you would struggle to find elsewhere. Clean, comfortable, & spacious. Pleasant, neutral interior design. Limited car park spaces. Limited dining options. Overall a pleasant place to shop. Highlight: High-end women's clothing shops. Supermarket: Eurospar. Department store(s): None. Accessible by tram no. 22 (Niska). Open hours: Monday-Saturday 9am-9pm.

Wola Park

Typical Polish shopping centre. Good range of shops that, generally speaking, you can find universally in Warsaw. Hosts a cinema & gym, too. A calm place to shop at. Bland interior/exterior design. During winter, always has the heating unnecessarily cranked up to the max. Conveniently located next to a metro station. New outdoor dining court; a perfect spot for the summer. Highlight(s): Calmness. Supermarket: Auchan. Department store(s): TK Maxx. Accessible by Metro Line 2 (Ulrychów). Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-10pm.

Westfield Mokotów

A comprehensive hub of activity. Shops, dining spots, a cinema, gym, and much more. Higher-end, luxury brands can be found here. Vast array of different types of shops. Excellent variety in the food court. Pleasant, modern interior. Seems a little soulless, in the most soulless area of the city. Doesn't feel local at all. Not the easiest to access. Highlights: Supermarket: Eurospar. Department store(s): Peek & Cloppenburg. Accessible by tram no. 17. Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-10pm.

Złote Tarasy

Large, well-stocked shops. Convenient, central location. Well-connected with overground trains, buses, & trams. Many gormless tourists can be found here. Standard range of shops. Nothing special or unique. On a Saturday, avoid it like the plague. Still, great for Europe; below average for Warsaw. Highlight(s): convenient location; they (almost) always have everything in stock. Supermarket: Carrefour. Department store: Van Graaf. Accessible by tram, train, bus, & metro. Open hours: Monday-Saturday 9am-10pm Sunday 9am-9pm.

Galeria Wileńska

A relatively modest-sized shopping centre. Interior is generally OK. Decent range of shops (the typical range). Certainly not bad, but certainly not outstanding, either. Perfect for everyday essentials, cosmetics, etc. Well-stocked Carrefour. A pleasant place to spend time. Highlight(s): Convenient location. Supermarket: Carrefour. Department store: none. Accessible by Metro Line 2 & by train (Dworzec Wileński). Travel time: 15-20 minutes. Open hours: Monday-Saturday 9am-9pm.

Sadyba Best Mall

Medium-sized shopping centre with a decent range of shopping options. Standard international chain stores + most popular Polish fashion companies. Nothing unique there in terms of shops. Limited dining options. Has Warsaw's only IMAX cinema (Cinema City), with 3D movies shown there. Bus is the only public transportation option. Highlight(s): Cinema City. Supermarket: Carrefour. Department store: none. Accessible by bus no. 131 (Limanowskiego). Travel time: 30-40 minutes. Open hours: Monday-Saturday 9am-9pm.

Plac Unii

Small shopping centre, offering a relaxing city centre shopping option. Spacious, elegant interior. A very pleasant place to spend time. "Unique", contemporary exterior. Not an excellent, vast range of shops. A decent range of dining options, considering the size. Preposterous escalator situation. What is it supposed to be? Highlight(s): the atmosphere. Supermarket: Carrefour. Department store: none. Accessible by trams 4, 10, 11 & 17. Travel time: 15-20 minutes. Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-9pm.

Atrium Reduta

Medium-sized shopping centre, located opposite Blue City. Occupies the more budget side of the spectrum. Very few clothes shops. Many discount shops/supermarkets. Hosts a cinema & a "museum". Not a great range of dining options. Very little uniqueness. Almost always easy to park there. Highlight(s): the calmness; ample parking spots. Supermarket: Carrefour. Department store: none. Accessible by bus no.s 127, 158, & 517 (Berestecka). Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-10pm.

Former industrial districts, converted into mixed-use, post-industrial entertainment & shopping districts

Elektrownia

Was: a power plant. Now: An all-day, versatile, entertainment hotspot. Some of the most interesting shops in Warsaw can be found here. Generally up-market options. A hub of Warsaw social life, whether during the day, or night. Excellent range of restaurants, representing a vast range of cuisines. Such a wonderful place to spend time. A truly exceptional site. Highlight(s): Sunday markets; Na Końcu Tęczy (read more). Accessible by Metro Line 2 (Nowy Świat-Uniwersytet). Open hours: Monday-Sunday 11am-9pm.

Fabryka Norblina

Was: a silverware factory. Now: A comprehensive entertainment hub. Hosts the intriguing Muzeum Fabryki Norblina (read more), as well as: a vast range of international food stalls, bars, shops, a small art gallery, and a cinema. Brilliantly maintained the history & feel of the original site. A spectacular place to spend time. Highlight(s): Live music; large fresh food market. Accessible by Metro Line 2 (Rondo ONZ or Rondo Daszyńskiego) + a relatively short walk. Open hours: Monday-Sunday 9am-10pm.

Centrum Praskie Koneser

Was: a distillery. Now: An arts-orientated site. Hosts an art gallery Muzeum Sztuki Fantastycznej, which specialises in surreal art. Many up-market restaurants & bars. Not many shops. 2 supermarkets. Learn about the history of the site at one of the museums. An interactive experience for children: MiniCity. Highlight(s): Freya Cafe Koneser (Basque cheesecake). Accessible by Metro Line 2 (Dworzec Wileński) + a pretty short walk. Open hours: Monday-Sunday 9am-10pm.

Browary Warszawskie

Was: a brewery: Now: Primarily orientated around dining & drinking experiences. A party hotspot in the financial district. Partially open-air, partially indoor. Retained its history well. Highlight(s): Good Lood, Mykonos (during the day), Nine's (Robert Lewandowski's restaurant), Baila (South American bar/restaurant with dance performances). Accessible by Metro Line 2 (Rondo Daszyńskiego). Open hours: Monday-Sunday 9am-10pm.

Hala Koszyki

Was: a market. Now: primarily a vibrant food hall, with an onus on street food. Some upmarket restaurants here, too, plus a health food supermarket & Eurospar. Can be lively during the night time, with live music/DJ performing some nights. Fantastically well-restored & repurposed. Excellent dining options. Active at almost all hours. Highlight(s): the character of the site, Salon de Thé. Accessible by trams 4, 15, 16 & 18, & Metro Line 1 (Politechnika) Open hours: Monday-Sunday 8am-1am.

"Department Stores"

Mysia 3

Former tenenment house, converted into a 3-level shopping hub. Interesting range of unique shops. Vast range of products for the home. Many small, independent clothes shops, too. Quite high-end options. Events - such as vintage markets - are held during some weekends. Unique "bar" serving international dishes. Such a relaxing place to spend time. Perfect for those in to art & design. Highlight(s): The uniqueness of the place, MUJI. Accessible by tram no.s 7, 9, 22, & 24. Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-8pm.

Vitkac

- Houses a vast range of luxury brands, such as Gucci, Dior, etc. Almost completely devoid of staff. A relatively nice place to spend time. Lacks some character, though. Decorated in a bland, contemporary style. If you have the wallet, & you like luxury brands, this will be the place for you. If not, go elsewhere. Fancy international-cuisine restaurant on the top floor. Highlight(s): Peace & calm. Accessible by tram no.s 7, 9, 22, & 24. Open hours: Monday-Saturday 11am-9pm.

Designer Outlet Warszawa

A beautifully-designed shopping village. A lovely place to spend an afternoon. Typical international fashion brands. Not a vast range of dining options. Far from the centre (& not technically in Warsaw, but in Piaseczno). Certainly worth the trip. Prices aren't always cheap. Shoe shops tend to have good deals here. Highlight(s): the shopping experience. Accessible by trams no. 4, & 10 (Aleja Lotników), then bus no. 709 (Energetyczyna). Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-10pm.

Factory Annopol

Outlet catering for all budgets & styles. The best prices can be found here. Excellent range of shops. Almost any article of clothing can be found here. Perfect for men, especially for suits. Ideal for buying shoes, sunglasses, etc. Not great for dining options: one café & a couple of restaurants. Neutral interior design. A pleasant experience, nonetheless. Highlight(s): Excellent prices. Suits. Digel. Accessible by tram no.s 4, & 22, & Metro Line 2 (Bródno). Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-9pm.

Factory Ursus

Excellent for sportswear & sports goods. Great range of options for men. Virtually a carbon copy of Factory Annopol in terms of style & shops. A quite pleasant place to do your shopping. Hugely appealing prices, typically much lower than those in shopping centres. A couple of restaurants & a coffee shop. Very difficult to access. Highlight(s): Comfort of the shopping experience. Range of shops for men. Accessible by train R3 (Warszawa Ursus Północny), or bus 517 (Szancera). Open hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-9pm.
